Born 2005, Athens, Greece
Lives and works in New York.
My work usually emerges as a composition of fragments—whether it is fragments of movement, the digital fragmentation of images extracted from photographs I have captured, imprints on clay, or fragments of domestic objects, recontextualized. I do not choose an image or object or idea for what it represents but for its potential as a fragment within a larger composition—its color, shape, texture, and ethos.
This deep relationship with fragmentation is not something I developed as an artist; it is an inclination that has always been with me, even from my earliest memories. As a child, I would take apart my toys, not to destroy them but to understand them, to reimagine and recompose them into something new. I was fascinated by the act of breaking things apart and the creative possibilities inherent in their reassembly. In hindsight, this instinct feels innate—a way of perceiving the world not as fixed, but as malleable, made up of pieces waiting to be reorganized.
Now, as an artist, I see my practice as a continuation of this way of being. The work I create feels personal because it reflects how I have always interacted with the world.
My first medium was drawing, but painting soon became central to my practice. Growing up surrounded by my grandmother’s abstract paintings, I gravitated naturally toward abstraction, finding in it a language of signs, shapes, strokes, and colors.
In 2024, after taking a painting class with Kenny Rivero, I’ve started reintegrating elements of realism into my practice and exploring their interaction within the broader context of my language of fragmentation.
